Brooke wasn’t your average Newport citizen; in fact she wasn’t at all what you would expect in the sunny area of Newport. Brooke was an all-English princess with a penchant for making dresses, the type of person that you really wouldn’t expect but when looking at her she seemed to fit in flawlessly. She had perfectly tanned skin, never-ending legs and a smiling face, the typical Californian girl. In truth, a lot of people believed Brooke’s accent to be fake until she managed to convince them that she was indeed Princess Brooklee of England, a title she didn’t often flaunt. Sitting at the pier with her legs over the edge was the aforementioned young girl. She wasn’t there for any particular reason, more just to sit. California was a pretty restless place and Brooke was just resting. Brooke was on her own, something that she wasn’t found to be very often, Brooke loved company but she also just liked to be free. She had a sketchbook on her lap and a pencil in her hand. The page in front of her was simply white with shades of black and grey pencil in the shape of an elegant ball gown that Brooke had no reason to make. Back in England Brooke would wear a dress like that almost every week, she had royal parties and red-carpets to attend very often and her favourite thing was her outfit. She would spend hours drawing her perfect dress and if she had time, she would make it and if she didn’t she’d search for one that looked just like it or even ask a professional to turn her pencil lines into a real dress. In Newport Brooke didn’t need fancy dresses. Brooke owned loads of ball gowns but the one of her page was her favourite.
Brooke was a fashion designer so she knew that this dress would be made but it wouldn’t be worn by her, it was unlikely that this dress would even exist in Newport. She had a store in Newport but it was more for casual outfits and her swimwear range rather than ball gowns. Her shop was now the place to go for fashionable outfits for school, Brooke’s shop wasn’t exactly cheap but the students at Newport High weren’t exactly hard off, they usually lived mansions with at least one pool. Brooke loved making clothes, it was a hobby for her and now she was making quite a bit of money from it. Brooke also loved gifting her friends with amazing one off dresses. She flipped a page and there was a mood board for one of her best friends. The name Ashton was drawn amazingly in the middle and there were things that reminded the small brunette of her friend dotted around the name. There were colour swatches and different patterned fabrics that she knew the girl would love. Brooke knew that Ashton was a bit down in the dumps and she wasn’t really sure what to do, she had never been great at cheering people up, so she had decided to leave that job to Charlize and she decided to make a dress called Ashton. She was going to make one for Ashton and then edit it slightly and make it a dress that anyone could buy, known as the Ashton.
It was September and it was Brooke’s first September in Newport where she wasn’t at school, she missed Newport High even though she had only been there for two years. Brooke had gone there to get away from the press and just to be herself but it was soon found out that she was a Princess but she had grown to love the place and the people. She had cried and complained when her parents said she needed to come home so they decided they’d let Brooke make the decision. She stayed in Newport where she experienced everything that a normal teen would, she got drunk, she partied and she had her heart broken some of the experiences she wished she hadn’t had to endure though but she knew that it had made her better. She had kind of sworn herself off American boys which she was sure her best friend Brody would be happy to hear about, Brooke had already kind of dated one her brothers and had tried to flirt with another but now she knew that dating a Delaney was not a good idea.
