She really shouldn’t have made that bet with Landon, because, well, she was going to lose. Who knew cooking could be so hard? When she’d planned on making a cake, she… well, she didn’t think the cake would turn out like a rock, or that her and Liam would get in a frosting fight. Brushing aside her bangs, she placed her hands on her hips, surveying the damage. Frosting was… everywhere. On the walls, on the table, on her face, in her hair, on the ceiling, and Liam was basically coated in it. Speaking of Liam… her eyes fell upon the just-turned three year old boy, who was giggling like a maniac.
"OK, bud,” Leah mumbled in a quite voice. “Daddy is not going to be happy with this mess.” Liam stopped laughing then, his large brown eyes, identical to Leah’s, gazing up at her. He had sandy blonde hair, which was probably the only thing that didn’t look like Leah. He had her naturally curly hair, her eyes, and her smile. The fact that he was her kid really helped on the cuteness factor, too.
"Daddy’s gonna be mad at me?” he squeaked, and Leah shook her head. “No, he’s not,” she cooed, leaning down and scooping him up before balancing him on her hip. “But, he’s never going to let me live this down,” she muttered under her breath. “Anyways,” she said more clearly, “How about we clean you up? And then we’ll go watch a movie, OK? I’ll ask Daddy to pick up a cake.” Liam nodded, excited as he squirmed in her arms. “Yes, mommy!” he squealed happily. Glancing at the mess, Leah sighed setting down Landon and pulling off her baggy sweatshirt.
"Mommy, handshake!” Liam commanded, and Leah smiled a bit. “OK, sweetie.” Leah said, slightly amused by Liam - he sounded just like she did when she wanted something, so she couldn't really tell him off, now could she? Not that she would've - it was well-known she spoiled that little boy senseless. As Landon began they're top-secret handshake (or not so secret, you know little kids and secrets), Leah couldn't help but smirk slightly at how... little kid-ish it was. But, Liam was a little kid, and he'd been watching some show where they'd had a handshake. Immediatly, he'd run up to her (when she'd been doing college homework, shockingly, she'd been glad for an excuse to stop), and begged her to come up with a handshake for them. So, obviously, she did. And Liam pretty much wanted to their handshake all the time. When they finished, Leah gave Liam a peck on the head, and then took his hand. "Come on, let's go get you cleaned up.
The process of getting Liam clean was always a long one. I swear, that boy just did not like baths, no matter what Leah and Landon tried. When she finally convinced him he was a merman, she walked a few feet away, making sure to keep a careful eye on her son while texting Landon with her still slightly damp arms. You win - I couldn't bake the cake. Can you pick up one? pressing send, Leah slid the phone back into her pocket before walking back over to Liam. "Alrightly, Mr. Merman, we're done now," she said after double-checking he had no frosting on him. Making a slight face at Leah, the young mother couldn't help but smirk back at him. "The sooner you get out the sooner we can watch a movie," she reminded him, and his eyes widened before he hopped out. "I'm ready!" he squealed, and Leah laughed. "You need to be dressed, baby. Delaney's coming over, too." After another long process of getting the young boy dressed, the two finally came down, Leah with frosting still caked all over her. Setting him down, she stared at herself, making a face. "How am I supposed to take a shower with no one here but you and me, bud?" she asked, placing her hands on her hips and giving him an amused smile, to which he just smiled adorably back. Kneeling slightly in front of him, Leah gave him a huge smile. "How old are you, sweetie?" Liam grinned at her before practically singing, "I'm three!" Laughing, Leah nodded. "And what's your birthday?" This one took Liam a moment before he smiled again. "Febuary twelth," he said, causing Leah to giggle at his attempt to say February. "Right," she praised. "Now, I'm going to put on The Sword and The Stone. Daddy's at the airport, getting everyone, so he should be home soon. While you watch this, I'm going to be in the kitchen, cleaning that mess. Stay out of trouble?" Liam nodded, bouncing on the cushiony seat. Popping in the movie, Leah walked into the kitchen, which was conviently right next to the family room - good, she could watch him while she cleaned up the mess she (and he!) made.
