Leah could recall almost every birthday of hers since she was four. Not just the present she received, but the excitement and anticipation that grew rapidly with the day. She couldn't wait until after dinner when she could open her birthday gifts along with the splendid homemade cake. This was the routine every year, something Leah cherished as part of her life. And even when the gifts stopped being toys and started increasing her savings account, Leah still couldn't wait until that very day she turned another year older. Her birthday was the only defined day when she could be so self-centered and it was actually accepted. Sure, there were random days throughout the rest of the year when Leah could go about feeling superior, but nothing like her birthday. A day completely devoted to her was a treat for her.
But for Ryan Monroe, every day was her birthday. At least that was the impression Leah got of her. There was no disputing that Ryan went about with a sense of superiority over others. The now-outed musician would often exert her egotistical views, a nose raised high with brash remarks. Though, she had her flaws, huge ones, too. From drugs to her persona that often kept people at a distance. Not to mention her frequent sexual advances on almost anyone. Granted Leah could spout a comment just as sexual, the two were on different sexual playing fields. If anything, Ryan was hardly different from any other person, even if she claimed otherwise. Well, except the fact Ryan did almost nothing for her own birthday. It astonished Leah to hear that Ryan had nothing planned for her birthday, even with it being her eighteenth birthday. Leah felt that something special should be happen in honor for Ryan, plus it would rise her spirits.
Finding Ryan's apartment empty, Leah lightly kicked the door closed. "Hey Ry?" Leah called out, just to make sure the girl wasn't lurking around. Grinning, she placed the paper bag down on the kitchen. Excitedly, Leah pulled out the few wrapped gifts from the bag, setting them neatly down. More than likely, Ryan would have been at the studio, which gave Leah a good half hour, maybe an hour before she returned. Plenty of time to get things in order, she figured. At least she had Ryan's gifts already wrapped and that usually took the longest of all things to do. Cautiously, Leah tightened the bow on the slim rectangular box. Inside was a charm bracelet with a few charms already attached. There were Ryan's initials, each on a separate link in the bracelet, then there was a quarter note not far from the M on the bracelet. Truthfully, it was the most expensive gift Leah had ever purchased for someone.
And as Leah prepared for Ryan's arrival, the girl could feel the anticipation growing. Every few minutes, she'd look over and smile at the tiara sitting on top of the presents Leah brought over. She grew giddy, a skip in her step became more noticeable. It wasn't even her birthday, but she couldn't wait for Ryan's reaction to this. After all, Leah was spending her time making this perfect for Ryan. The blond had most of it already planned out. Ryan would come home and see her apartment decorated with birthday party materials. In fact, Leah was already wearing a party hat as she hung up the Happy Birthday banner. A few balloons here and there, but not too many. Leah was revolving the small celebration around her own birthdays, except with a small twist. Instead of a home cooked meal, Leah ordered their favorite Chinese dishes, and then, for after dinner, a single cupcake awaited for Ryan since Leah couldn't cook or bake. A small hum came from Leah as she worked around Ryan's apartment, tidying up a bit. The girl wanted everything to be perfect for her, almost meticulously perfect. She had gone over the coffee table a few times with Windex, wanting Ryan to see her own reflection in the glass.
Hearing the door open, Leah jumped, her leg hitting the edge of the coffee table. "Frick!" She cried out, dropping the bottle of Windex to the floor. Clenching her eyes, Leah rubbed at her leg briefly before looking at Ryan. Smiling, Leah pinned her shoulders back, almost innocently, and stood in the middle of Ryan's living room. "I know it's tomorrow, but we're going to Brooke's party then," Leah spouted. "So... happy birthday!" Lightly skipping, she picked up the tiara from the counter and stepped closer to Ryan. "Besides, I figured we should celebrate it tonight so you have your own party," she added, placing the tiara atop of Ryan's head.

OutfitBirthdays, did they really matter so much to everyone? It was just another notch under your belt, another year that has been wasted, another day closer to death. Ryan Monroe looked at it that way, she didn't enjoy celebrating her birthday, actually she never did. That was a lie though, since her sixth birthday was probably the only one celebrated even if that was her father's doing. After that, her family became too busy, they forgot about the day that she was born or they just didn't want to remember it. As soon as Ryan became a teenager it seemed she constantly got into trouble, though it wasn't for the reason of just for the hell of it but rather to gain attention. Even after her freshmen year she started to notice that it wasn't working, her family didn't care and they never would. Her father was too busy with his music, her mother was too busy being a lawyer and traveling all over the world. Her sister, well they just had a personal hate for one another, neither of them really knew why. So her birthday became a day where she sat alone and just let the day pass by, sometimes there would be tears but no one would ever know.
Ryan portrayed herself as strong, she never shed a tear in front of people and she never got her head out of the clouds. Though someone had changed that, someone had brought her down from those clouds and slowly broke her open. Leah Stowe, the little nerd girl who seemed to just laugh at Ryan's conceited nature. In all her life, the young brunette had never come across anyone like her and for some reason she allowed herself to be more open with the blond. It was certainly weird, since Ryan began sharing everything with the girl, her family history, her love for music, even her little drug problem. Ryan had always been scared about opening up to people, she was so terrified that they would turn around and use everything against her. People just found out everything certain ways, since that blog was placed out about her people didn't look at her in the same way. Yes, she slept with the senior classes biggest idiot, and then on the plus side she slept with the senior classes' hottest blond. But, they harped on her for little things and people even seemed to want to get her kicked out of school. Hiding drugs in her bag, she didn't snort anything! So it was hard to figure out that she was really doing drugs, unless you looked at her arms.
Today was the day before her birthday, and what was she doing? Sitting in a studio and looking over some of her father's songs, one of the owners of the place had given her a few of the papers before. Though she was invited to a big party tomorrow, it didn't seem like she was doing much to get ready for it. Truthfully, she didn't even want to go to this party but for once she was being nice to the princess who shared a birthday with her and decided to go. Her and Leah would probably go gift shopping tomorrow for the other female, actually she'd just let Leah pick out something for her then probably just pay for it. For some reason Ryan was a bit nervous, most of the times parties and her just didn't mix, bad things always happen. Just like the party she went to and ended up waking up with Stevie Brielle, which wasn't as bad as it sounded. Great sex came in stupid packages, and blond ones in her book anyway. Yes, Stevie was probably the only non-blond that Ryan had ever slept with, even if Leah was not on that list as of yet. That was the other thing about the nerd, she didn't jump right in bed with her, which made Ryan pretty angry but she didn't push the matter.
Yawning, the girl stood up with a stretch, gathering the papers and placing them in a small folder and gave a simple nod in goodbye to the producer. She started out the door, fixing her cropped shirt a bit and yes this was how she normally dressed on days that she didn't go to school. Shirts that showed her toned stomach, it was something that Ryan was proud of as well as the creative back tattoo as well. Getting into her car, she checked her phone first, wondering as to why she hadn't heard from her little blond just yet. Usually she'd at least have a text by now, so really either that meant Leah was busy studying or busy trying to pick out a outfit for tomorrow. Shrugging it off, Ryan began her way home which was only about ten minutes away so it didn't really take long at all. Taking the elevator up a few floors, and stopping in front of her doors for a second. Her head tilted when she heard a few things moving around inside, knowing that only one other person had a key with them. The brunette had given Leah a key because there were just times that she didn't hear the door, and she was being tutored by the attractive girl.
Raising a eyebrow, she opened the door and closed it behind her, only to see the blond rubbing her leg in pain. "Are you my clumsy maid or something?" She laughed, before listening to what she said. Huh? Wait, was this a mini-party just for her? Ryan looked around a bit, seeing the presents on the table and the birthday banner. She was extremely confused, no one ever did something like this for her and she didn't think anyone would really want to ever. Before she knew it the other female was skipping over to her, though she still held that confused face then instantly frowned when the tiara was placed on her head. "Am I a honorary princess bitch today?" She laughed, shaking her head then leaning forward a bit to place a light kiss on the blond's lips. She didn't normally say this, actually she never really said this before to anyone at all. "Thank you." She said quickly, as if they were forbidden words for her to speak. She stepped into the apartment more, maneuvering herself around the other female to get a better look at the place. "So my question is, why are you doing this? You sure as hell know I don't deserve this." She asked, placing her keys and folder down on one of the side tables as well as her phone. Her back was still to the nerd, her eyes still traveling around the room as if in amazement.

"Noo," Leah giggled softly. Clumsy? Maybe, but Ryan's maid? Well.. that could be debated. Frequently the nerd found herself picking up around Ryan's apartment whenever studying would fail. Or whenever there was a sexual tension between them, which was almost always the case. God, it was rather embarrassing when they first met. Ryan answering the door without a shirt. That would almost never happen back in New Hampshire, but Leah saw it as a warming welcome to California. A hot girl half naked, when was that not enjoyable? At first, she had offered to tutor Ryan so the rebel wouldn't be expelled, but even part of Leah didn't believe that. Something in Ryan interested Leah and she wanted to know what it was. So, tutoring gave her full access to spending time with the musician. Sure, there was a sexual attraction, but Leah wasn't ready to jump into bed immediately. Yes, the sexual nerd was a virgin, even after knowing Ryan for nearly three months now. Leah wanted to know more about Ryan than what she presented to everyone.
Leah was almost stunned, her head tilted as Ryan walked farther into the decorated apartment. She didn't move to follow Ryan or anything. Of course she knew that Ryan didn't have the greatest relationship with her family, which actually gave Leah more incentive to do this for Ryan. Even if she was self-centered already, a birthday should be celebrated. Even just say happy birthday to someone could lift spirits. It showed that someone cared about them, which was always pleasing knowledge. So for even Ryan to think she didn't deserve the celebration upset Leah. "It's a birthday; it's supposed to be celebrated," she spoke, once finding her voice.
A smile grazed her lips though when she watched Ryan scan over the apartment. She could tell that Ryan was grateful, especially since the musician said thank you. Part of Leah felt accomplished, satisfied to have done this for Ryan. "So... you like it?" She laughed lightly, stepping next to Ryan. "I mean, the tiara may be over the top, but... I don't know... I've always found myself acting like a queen on my birthday." Silencing herself, Leah glanced over to Ryan, waiting for a response. The nerd often rambled when she was excited for something, like now for instance. She wanted Ryan to truly enjoy the small birthday bash. Then again, the evening probably wouldn't be much different from any other time they spent together. Ryan would still be full of herself and Leah would just ignore the girl's egotism. Leah often let the girl think highly of herself, never bothering to dispute it. She actually learned the hard way on that one. Probably around the second or third time the two hung out. After Leah got a general idea about Ryan, she tried challenging it, which failed miserable. There was no way to convince Ryan any way that someone else out there could possibly be better than she at something. Of course, when there was, Ryan often claimed the matter was trivial and not critical. At some point, Leah became too exasperated from trying to prove Ryan wrong, now leaving her to lightly laugh at Ryan's elaborate schemes for attention.
Carefully, Leah reached for Ryan's hand, linking fingers slowly. "I already ordered Chinese," Leah commented, dragging her toward the couch. "So that should be here in a half... maybe twenty minutes." Nodding, Leah let go over Ryan's hand before walking back into the kitchen. Picking up the gift bag and small box, she walked back into the living room. "Gifts, before or after?" Asked Leah, placing them down on the cleaned coffee table. Fixing the tissue paper in the bag, she glanced inside at the gifts inside, smiling lightly. The soft teddy bear nuzzled three rolled shirts in its arms and a pair of scissors not far. Scissors were included, knowing Ryan would likely modify the shirts.

OutfitIt was weird, every single time that Leah came over cleaning was done around the apartment. Ryan never understood it, did dust or something make the girl uncomfortable? Normally she'd just shrug it off and allow the nerd to clean up around the house, even if she found it strange well there was no stopping her. Plus, the sexual tension did get really high between the two of them and it gave Ryan time to cool herself down. Usually that involved a magazine or a guitar in front of her, keeping her eyes away from the attractive blond and head down. She wasn't really a person that got flustered often, normally it was just times where she could not get what she wanted, such as Leah. It bothered her, the fact that she couldn't get Leah to even so much as go all the way with her, that had been before she was told about the whole... v-card thing. It was like being blue-balled! Well, if Ryan was a boy but whatever it was called in female term, she had gotten it more then twice. There were just moments that she felt so in the mood, only to be pushed away or given some kind of excuse by the blond. It always caused her to roll her eyes and pout, not knowing what the big deal was, then again she figured Leah didn't want her first time to be with her.
It was weird, birthdays never really seemed important to Ryan before, of course she never really told friends when her birthday was just so they wouldn't do something like this. But, it seemed Newport enjoyed finding things out this year, and once the whole middle name thing got out, well her birthday must of too. Then again, she shared a birthday with a English princess, it wouldn't of been hard to hide it but, she just went along with it. "Aw, well Mother Theresa, I guess your wish came true, everyone will celebrate a birthday this year." She laughed, though even with sarcastic comments like that she was still happy. So, Ryan had started drugs because she was never happy, smiling in pictures was something unheard of for her. Recently though, she had started becoming happier, lessing the usage of drugs because she was around Leah a lot more. The nerd didn't like her doing the drugs, so she was weening herself off of them just by being around her though the side-effects weren't becoming the best thing. So, she'd do it once every so often just to make the side-effects go away and it made her feel better most of the time. Hey! At least she wasn't a cutter! That would of made uglier marks on her arms, which was like ruining perfection in her view.
This just felt like... it was too much, and now Ryan started to feel bad about all of those comments she made at Leah. She started to feel bad about trying to push her into doing something more, and even if she hadn't actually said it, most of the time it was obvious. "Yeah, I like it a lot, you really didn't have to go through all this trouble." She said, turning her head to look at the female and smiling kindly. She raised an eyebrow as Leah ranted, this happened very often when they were together, and this was how Ryan stopped it. Leaning to the side, she placed a kiss on the ranting female's lips, shaking her head once she pulled back. "You were rambling, and I act like a queen every day." She nodded. Yes, she did know how egotistical she really was, she was very aware of it and didn't see herself changing any time soon. What? It was fun putting yourself before everyone else, actually it was the smart way to live and easier way. It's the main reason why her and Nat didn't get along so well, clashing egos was just messy though equally attractive too. She enjoyed watching Leah try to prove her wrong, trying to get her to admit that she wasn't the best thing since soup was invented. There was always a open comment that made her say something right back, it was like leaving yourself open for a punch. Hey, Ryan could make a pretty good lawyer if she actually got good grades in school and wanted to go to college. Yeah, neither of those things were happening, she was doing just fine with what she had right about now. Living off her dead father's fortune, keeping up with her suspensions in school and trying to hang by a thread.
The sudden warmth in her hand caused her to look down, jumping back to reality and letting her own fingers interlace with the others. It was a short distance that they went, over to the couch which Ryan took a seat on as she was pulled over. "Chinese? Yum, how did you know what to order me?" She smirked, though knew they had ordered out a few times while Leah was over. For one, it was easier then cooking and two it always tasted good when you ate in good company as well. Her eyes outlined the female's body as she walked away, though quickly adverted her eyes when she turned around. Her head tilted at the bag that was being carried towards her, having no idea that Leah did something more then throw this party for her. "Leah, you really didn't have to do this!" Ryan couldn't deny gifts though, she loved when money was spent on her, made her feel more special then she really was. Her eyes were glued to the bag for a second or two before she looked up at the female, trying to decide the ill-fated question. "Is it something we're supposed to use after dinner? Kidding kidding, I'm not waiting." She smiled, standing up and poking at the bag. She looked to the female, as if asking her if she was allowed to. "Can I? Pweaseee?" She pouted cutely and tried to poke her nose into the bag. She was like a puppy when it came to presents, she got really excited for them and if she really did have a tail well it would be wagging right about now.

There was always some unsettled tension between the two girls, and it was always sexual tension. Sometimes, the level of tension was tolerable, while at other times when it raised too high, the girls went on to do separate things. Yes, the nerd everyone in Newport seemed to know as the sexual one, well... Leah truthfully wasn't all that sexual. In fact, the blond happened to be a virgin, and she wasn't just willing to give up her virginity to the first girl she crossed paths with. The fact Leah was a virgin was the primary reason for the tension, something Ryan clearly struggled with. And whenever Ryan would question Leah's hesitation, she'd just ignore the girl and go about busying herself. It wasn't that Leah didn't want to have sex or that she was afraid to have sex, she just... wanted her decision to be a confident one. Leah didn't want to be just a notch is someone's bedpost. And with Ryan, Leah wasn't exactly certain she wanted her first time to be with her.
Well, in the beginning, at least. Leah learned rather quickly that Ryan wasn't the most monogamous person out there. Actually, so far, Leah hadn't heard of Ryan even being in a relationship to begin with. She was depicted as a girl who'd sleep around with little care as to the mornings after. "I wouldn't call myself that saintly," the blond smirked, flattening out the front of her shirt. A blush crept along her cheeks when Ryan's lips where placed against hers yet again. Shyly, Leah lowered her head, facing away from Ryan after their lips parted. For some reason, small kisses were causing the girl to having butterflies fluttering around in her stomach. No, Leah wouldn't say she was queasy or revolted by Ryan, not at all. She was just as attracted to Ryan as she had been the first day they met, if not more. And yes, even with having to put up with Ryan's egotistical nature, Leah still wanted to spend her time with Ryan. "Oh," she laughed quietly. "Was I? Didn't really notice." Shrugging her shoulders, Leah no longer felt the warmth in her cheeks, now willing to look up at Ryan.
"I wanted to do this," she spoke once more, a bit more freely and confidently. Standing behind the coffee table, she watched as Ryan tried to peer into the gift bag. Moving, Leah joined Ryan on the couch, resting her back against the arm of it. "You should know me better!" Her eyes rolled at Ryan's comment. Something to use after dinner. None of the gifts were sexual, which might come as a surprise to Ryan. Then again... the shirts Leah bought Ryan could been worn after dinner... much later. Okay, so none of the purchased gifts were sexual, but there was one gift that was very sexual: birthday sex. The whole reason Leah seemed a bit too anxious for Ryan's birthday, wanting it to go perfectly, had been partially selfish. She wanted her first time to be memorable, perfect... and after carefully analyzing the situation, who would be better than Ryan? She had grown to see a different side of Ryan, no longer worried about just being another name to the girl on Ryan's list. Bringing her knees to her chest, Leah tilted her head, smiling at Ryan's pout. "Ry," she chuckled yet again, shaking her head, "it's your birthday! And you are wearing the tiara."
Elbow pressed against the back cushion of the couch, Leah played with her hair lightly. Silently, she wondered which gift Ryan would go for, first: the small, pastel blue box with a silver mesh ribbon tied around it or the medium-sized gift bag? Her attention was dragged from her thoughts, hearing a knock at the door. "Be right back!" Leah jumped from the couch. "That's probably the Chinese," she commented, walking to the front door. Without even looking back, Leah warned Ryan to wait as she dug into her pockets for her money. Returning to the living room, Leah placed the paper bag down on an empty spot of the coffee table. "Okay, now, gifts?" Sitting back down, Leah tilted her head,

OutfitHah, Ryan didn't even remember the last time she was put through so much tension, maybe back when she was a virgin herself. Then again, that was around the same time she started becoming more confident and started exposing herself to others more. She slept with boys and girls, she never pick a preference until her sophomore year of high school. She hated the way males took control of things and how they always wanted the power, so she decided to go with women more. She enjoyed women who let her take control, and not have to fight for it, not that she wouldn't or anything. Who would of guessed that Natassia Burksley would be the first girl to test the theory on, and well Ryan said that it didn't count. They matched in a lot of things, but their egos were a bit much to handle. They were rough, just because both of them felt the need to dominate. With Leah, it was so much different, the blond never let Ryan do just about anything. They would be getting into it and shirts would be off, but right when the brunette's hands went to the belt line, Leah freaked out. It always caused Ryan to whine and feel as if she was just blue balled, something that wasn't comfortable. Of course she knew Leah was a virgin, and Ryan had never really been a cherry popper before, so it's a bit pressure on both of them.
Relationships, the young musician just didn't do them and nor did she really want to either. Being tied down to one person was just overwhelming for her, the same sex over and over again wasn't at all interesting. There was just this thing though, Leah caused something to spark in her to hold her interest for this long already. Usually, Ryan would of bedded the person already and moved on. Happened with all her previous "lovers", it was just something caused her stomach to go crazy, her eyes to light up, and the brightening of day when Leah was around. What was so special about this little blond? Maybe this was it, the way she just put so much care and thought into something so meaningless. "Yep, you were. It's a bit funny though, sometimes I don't even know what you're going on a rant about, I just make up reasons to kiss you." She smirked gently, enjoying the way she was able to fluster the female often. It was tough, thinking of things that really made the girl blush and become nervous, then again nerds were really easy to do such a thing to. Ryan had never really gone after the smart kind before, in previous encounters she went according to chest or according to how drunk she was.
It didn't seem that Ryan could grasp as to why someone would want to do this for her, she just didn't get it. In a way, the brunette was a bit evil souled and mostly everyone and their mothers knew that. Mess with Ryan, you mess with your life and your reputation around school. That was why people usually cleared out when she was around, in a way she was like a school bully, only more intimidating. "Yeah, you and sexual just don't mix at all." She nodded, having no idea why the little blond was so cheery. Then again she always was, but not like this, something was up and it didn't seem like Ryan would find out any time soon. "Yeah well... I'm not wearing this thing tomorrow, because it'll end up being shoved up someone's ass once they make fun of me." She nodded, shifting the tiara on her head a bit. So, she was a bitch but she was really thankful for all of this and she didn't really understand as to why this was all done for her. Maybe she was right, Leah was really different from others and it was a good type of different for once. It was sorta making her nervous, did this mean that she'd start getting into relationships next... or maybe commitment would happen.
Hearing the knock at the door, she looked back at Leah and watched her jump up. "Did you get me a stripper too?!" She teased, before going back to poking the box. As the other female disappeared for a minute, she took a seat on the couch and waited impatiently. You were putting presents before her and telling her she couldn't open them, that was like telling a child not to. Watching the female return with a big bag of food, she grinned and stood up instantly. "Yes! Now, presents." She decided to start with the big bag first, pulling out the first thing that she grasped. It was soft and squishy, a teddy bear in which she pulled out carefully since it felt heavier then any teddy bear she'd ever gotten before. Actually, Ryan didn't get gifts often, her mom forgot about her birthday... rather didn't care about it. Her sister, Sammy wasn't really all that fond of the conceited girl and it really didn't matter anymore. Pulling out the teddy bear from the bag, she grinned at the things it was holding, placing him down on the table and taking the shirts from his hands. She unrolled one of them, laughing at the writing and did so with the other two. Leah sure knew Ryan's attitude, that was for sure and she'd probably wear these around a lot. "Aw, thank you, so is this a signal that I should start calling you Leah-bear?" She asked, holding up the bear and laughing. Now onto the thinner and smaller box, which confused her to no tomorrow since she couldn't guess what it was. Carefully, she took apart the box and opened it up, smiling gently this time and just having no idea what to say. "Leah, you didn't have to spend this much money on me." She whispered, tears almost coming to her eyes. It was happy tears though, she'd never really... had a birthday like this before. Finally, someone cared that she was getting a year older, someone... finally cared.

Leah grinned, hearing Ryan's remark of hiring a stripper. So that would have probably been a more appropriate gift for this girl, but Leah wasn't taking any risks. All of this was a pretty safe until later tonight. Part of Leah was scorning herself for deciding to finally have sex. Well, more over how she was going about it, but Ryan did have a large part as to why Leah was, even now, hesitant. The blond felt as though her first time should be memorable, and rightly so. You were supposed to always remember your first, and Leah wanted to remember it for the right reasons. She didn't want to wake up the next morning and look over only to be consumed with regret. "You wish," she laughed, bringing the bag of food in after paying.
And Ryan Monroe wasn't exactly the person you'd want to lose your virginity to. The way she held herself was more than just arrogant, something Leah honestly didn't know what to think of. It was... just so different than the arrogant girls back in New Hampshire; a lot more callous, which bothered Leah often. But the time Leah spent with Ryan grew, allowing her to become closer to the vindictive brunette. There was a side of Ryan even Leah was certain Ryan was clueless of. It took a while to figure out, but Leah was convinced most of Ryan's behavior was due to her relationships, or lack thereof, with her own family. Ryan's own father was deceased, which stunned Leah when she was told of it. A car crash, she recalled, nothing pleasant. And that was when most of Ryan's troubles with her mother and sister began to arise. How terrible was that? To lose one parent and then begin to be alienated by the other? Had Leah gone through it, she could almost understand why Ryan often distanced herself. After spending nearly two months with Ryan, Leah started to condone many of the actions Ryan performed. She... understood why Ryan went about things the way she did; that didn't mean Leah was going to do the same, but she understood.
But what made Leah certain she wanted to have her first time with Ryan was how the brunettes eyes lit up occasionally when Leah spent the night. Ryan's anger seemed to be in spurts whenever Leah was about but didn't disappear. In a way, Leah felt responsible for Ryan becoming a more gentle person. She cared greatly about the brunette, having harbored enough patience to help the girl keep her grades up so Ryan could stay in school. Hell, Ryan's school attendance probably boomed when Leah transferred to Newport. It lead Leah to believe that there was a part of Ryan that wanted to do better. She just needed something for motivation which Leah more than generously supplied. Whether Ryan wanted to admit it or not, Leah was willing to place money on the fact Ryan's attraction to her wasn't entirely sexual at this point.
"Yes," she laughed, thoroughly enjoying Ryan's enthusiasm, "time for presents." Sitting back down on the couch, Leah pulled her knees toward her chest, pressing her side into the back of the couch. Leah was just as excited for this as if it were her own birthday. The blond couldn't wait to see the surprised look on Ryan's face. Sure, the rolled up t-shirts were a play on Ryan's likes and personality and the teddy bear holding them just seemed cute. "Noo," she waved her hands, politely refusing the suggested nickname. "Now you have something to cuddle with when I'm not here!" Leah grinned, resting the side of her head in her open hand. Sitting up straight, her grin grew larger when Ryan picked up the small rectangular box. And for once, the loud, egocentric girl seemed selfless... saying Leah didn't need to spend this much money on her. "I wanted you to have the best eighteenth birthday. I mean, you only have one, Ryan Julianna," she smirked, inching closer to the brunette. Leaning forward, she placing a hand atop of Ryan's thigh for support moving her face closer. "Happy birthday, Ry," Leah sweetly spoke before kissing the girl.

OutfitMost of Ryan's remarks with Leah were all just playing around, she never really found herself being angry or even so much as using drugs around the girl. For two or maybe it was three months now, she found herself thinking more and more about the blond. Though this wasn't just another one of those flings that happened in high school, Ryan had already experienced those and this wasn't what it felt like. This was more... unusual then she was used to, those butterflies that Ryan though she expelled from her body long ago kept coming back. There was a reason Ryan quit trying to get the girl in bed, it was as if she knew that Leah was not just another girl she'd sleep with then move on from. Part of her wanted to believe that it was because the blond was a virgin, the other part of her was screaming at her saying that she was falling hard for her. Disliking her own thoughts, she smirked slyly at the curvaceous girl that came towards her. "Depends, will you be working the pole tonight?" Obviously she was playing around, though it was also a ploy to let the girl know that she wasn't thinking about anyone else at the moment. There was no other girl, there was no "sercret person", it was Leah and only Leah.
Ryan had a reputation around Newport, as the girl that no one was really supposed to trust or even dare to get angry. Though she also had a thing for knowing everything about everyone, and also scaring the crap out of a few here and there. It was just how Ryan ticked, she didn't know how to turn it off nor did she really want to anyway. Pranking, being a bitch was apart of her general nature, and she really couldn't change her whole mindset just for one person. Though she found herself allowing her guard down when with Leah, she didn't get as defensive, nor did she get as snippy. She even trusted her enough to allow her to know her past, to explain all about her father's fame and his death. She also told Leah about her mother, about how disapproving her mother was about her lifestyle, and her sister was just as annoying as her mother was. So, there was a reason for her being rude, and ready to bite your head off at every sentence. Truthfully, it allowed her to express herself more, allowed her to really just be herself and not caring who hated her. No, she didn't care if the whole school disliked her, nor did she really care who she harmed. If she harmed them, they must of had it coming, most usually realized that by now. You never cross paths with Ryan Monroe, unless you wish for a "accident" to just so happen the next day. Ryan took pride in her reputation, but behind closed doors with Leah, that pride diminished and she became a bit more caring then she normally did.
There was a lot about Leah that Ryan loved, though mainly it was the warm feeling that was felt when she was around. Sleepovers were exciting, Ryan couldn't stop grinning most of the time, or teasing the girl to no tomorrow. They did have little teasing wars, and kissing was something they had become custom to. It never went beyond that though, and for once Ry was okay with it. Though like stated before, Ryan wasn't about to change for someone else, even if she did allow Leah to see another side of her. Her ego never went away, and her joking nature was also there from time to time. She was less of a bitch though, well... to Leah at least. Even she was surprised to find herself attending classes more, surprised at the way she seemed to give a damn if she passed or failed a exam. It was like a way to keep Leah in her life, by doing better it seemed like the blond became more proud of her and Ryan couldn't help but submit to that smile. Most of the time, her actions were to keep Leah in her life, to try and get her in bed but that thought wasn't even in her mind now. She found herself thinking more and more about what Leah thought of her then even sex with her, man look what this girl was doing to her. It felt weird, actually it felt inhuman for her, Ryan Monroe had... actual feelings.
There was so much reason behind Ryan being excited, and truthfully she'd never been this excited for a birthday in years. Presents, actual presents that she didn't by and pathetically wrap for her own personal joy. So, Ryan would never admit that she didn't have many friends, but she'd also never admit that she wanted any either. The shirts, were just adorable, causing her to laugh at the words sprawled across them. "About time you noticed that I was the shit, jeez." She grinned, before lightly folding them after viewing each one. The water works only came after she had opened the final gift, though she held them back as long as possible. "Thank you." She whispered, looking down at the bracelet and letting her fingers run over each charm. She didn't even have the guts to protest her middle name being said, Leah was really getting away with a lot now and days. Though she decided to allow her personality to come back a bit, shooting a glare at the blond. "You're lucky Stowe, lucky that I..." Ryan stopped herself, as if just realizing what she was about to admit. And for once, Ryan was okay with admitting it, Ryan was okay with saying those three fated words. Feeling the females hand upon her leg, she looked up and smiled into the kiss that they shared. She shifted her position a bit, pulling her legs underneath her so that she could be facing the other female. This didn't break the kiss though, though Ryan did lean forward and her hand went to the arm of the couch behind Leah to catch herself from falling into the girl. She allowed their lips to disconnect though, for one she needed to catch her breath and the other... well, she had something to say. "Lucky that I love you." She said in a rushed breath, opening her eyes just to see the blond's reaction. Words like those, were not the conceited girl's style but they finally left her lips. It was like Ryan needed that kiss to convince herself that she was saying the right words, that she was ready to say those words, and obviously she was.

It didn't take long for Leah to figure out she got to see a different side of Ryan Monroe than the rest of the world. She was certain maybe around the one month mark when the attempts to lay the girl began to come few and far apart that this... this was a different side of Ryan. When Leah was able to convince Ryan that there were more to relationships than having sex, things just fell into place. Ryan opened up and Leah gladly, eagerly accepted the privileged information. The fact Ryan allowed herself to become so vulnerable made Leah feel honored and appreciated. Ryan was selective about whom to open up with whereas Leah had no problem allowing people into her life. Of course, being so willing to accept someone didn't always have the best outcome. Leah, too, had been scorned once or twice in her life by someone she thought she could trust. She understood Ryan's hesitation. Soon enough, they both learned that if anything was going to happen, it would only come with time, not pressuring the other into anything.
Seeing Ryan's face when she opened the last gift was priceless. Just the modesty Ryan had in that brief moment made Leah all the more certain about what else was planned. For the past few months, the two teased each other. It was mostly Ryan's doing to get the girl to cave in, but Leah had her fair shares of taunting her. May it be her fingers the scaled alongside the tattoo on Ryan's lower back that lingered briefly before fully lifting her hand or just nuzzling close to Ryan while placing soft kisses just below the jaw. Even Leah was surprised that every time the two was together that it wasn't awkward with all the sexual tension building up between them. With her free hand, Leah thumbed a few stray tears on Ryan's cheek away. "I figured you'd like it," she smiled softly, thumb still caressing the tear-stained cheek. It was when Ryan paused, Leah took the opportunity by hand, kissing the birthday girl. Ryan's small movements didn't interrupt the kiss as Leah leaned back once more somewhat pulling Ryan with her. Her hands shifted, one tucking a loose strand or two of the brunette's hair behind her ear, the other helping support the body slightly hovering over her.
A little upset that the kiss ended, Leah's head was pulled forward, her lips twisting into a small pout. The five words Ryan spoke caught her off guard. She hadn't expected to hear them from the girl in.. well, ever. Blinking heavily, Leah's hand dropped, beginning to mess with her own hair. She was... happy, thrilled to know her feelings for Ryan were reciprocated. The corners of her lips pulled tight, a crooked grin displayed on her face. Right now, she cared little about everything else planned. Their dinner was on the coffee table, still in the brown paper bag. It wasn't like there was a wandering pet around here to worry about. Leah didn't even care about bringing the chocolate cupcake with a lone birthday candle ready to be lit. Scooting closer to the arm of the couch, Leah straightened her back, making sure not to bump heads with Ryan as she did so. Giving the brunette a quick kiss, Leah sighed lightly. "You know," Leah reached behind her, taking hold of Ryan's hand and pulling it with her as she got up. "You have one present left. And a little someone said you'd really enjoy it, too," she remarked, linking her fingers with Ryan's.
There was no way Leah would back out of this now. She had already decided on going through with this prior to Ryan speaking those words, but now... it was just a moment of clarity. Leah would be a fool not to give into the rebellious girl. And Ryan, well by now Ryan had know to how Leah felt about her. The blond cared greatly for the girl, organizing this whole evening just for Ryan. Her free hand wandered, unbuttoning her shirt as she led Ryan to the bedroom, yet the other hand remained linked. "I was going to wait until after we ate, but...," Leah spun around, beginning to walk backwards. She bent over, smiling up at Ryan, "Maybe it's best we eat after."

OutfitRyan found Leah to be someone special, even at the beginning when she just tried to get into the girl's pants, she felt weird at being rejected. It confused the conceited girl, seeing as no one usually rejected someone like her, since well just take one look. It grew from there, being rejected by the girl only made Ryan more persistent, made her chase after her more and more. This brought the two of them closer, the whole tutoring thing was such a joke, though she had to admit she did learn a thing or two. Learning through sexual activities, which never really ended in real sex anyway. Of course, there was Ryan's drug addiction, Leah knew about it and hell the whole school knew about it, but after spending time and time again with the little blond she slowly brought it to a halt. This girl was just taking a real hit at the brunette's life, she was stalling sex, teaching her things, getting on her good side, all those things people had never done before. The one thing that Ryan loved the most about Leah though, the factor that she actually cared. Leah wasn't just one of those girls who wanted sex then would never speak to her again, no she actually was trying to build something. It had started as a slow friendship, actually Ryan's only friend really, and it slowly became more and more into a relationship.
If you couldn't tell by now, Ryan was the man in this building relationship, she took control and enjoyed doing it. She directed the whole show, Leah was pretty much a producer, helping the process be pushed along. The teasing was intense, ever since they first met, Ryan had taken a bit of a hard hit on Leah, she touched when she wanted and it didn't seem like the little blond minded so much. This was what kept the brunette going, though of course she needed to learn something to get more skin, it's how they worked their tutoring schedule. No, Ryan wasn't really the smartest girl, she was witty but she just didn't have too many brain cells. Even with the many flaws that Ryan had, someone had managed to care about her, someone actually came forward and said they cared. Well, by this display before her, she knew Leah cared about her and about everything about her. "I don't think I'm ever going to understand why you picked me, but I am grateful for it." She did get these moments, where something kind and heart-warming came past her lips. Though these moments weren't usual, they only happened around Leah. It didn't stop her control though, just by the way she pretty much climbed on the blond showed who was in charge here. She may not be strong psychically but she had a way with words, even though she never had to use her wit on Leah.
It was perfect, this moment was a real kodak moment, whatever that was supposed to mean. The whole night was just something that Ryan had never experienced before, someone making a big deal about her. Everyone always wondered as to why she was so rude, mean, emotionless, and all the rest of those bloody words that described her. This was the answer right here, she never had someone give a damn, after her father's death, her mom and sister pretty much went their own ways, leaving her alone. She took up drugs, she took up being a bitch, she just wanted attention though never received it. Now, she had said those ill-fated words, the words someone only spoke when they were so sure and hell, Ryan was as sure as could be. Though just because she was in love didn't mean she was going to go around being nice to everyone, Leah was special and she got special treatment. Confused already, which didn't take much by the way, she watched Leah straighten up and grab her hand. "Another present? A pony?! ...it's a unicorn, isn't it?" She joked, being pulled up from her seat and able to think about what was going on. Leah was really going all out with this, and she couldn't imagine what the next thing was going to be.
A lot of things confused Ryan, most of the time it was school work but this time it was the blond female before her. She had stood when pulled up, tilting her head still to the side as she was pulled towards the bedroom by Leah. "This isn't another one of those,"Tease Ryan then leave her blue balled" is it?" She asked, allowing herself to be strung along and it was odd to not be the teasing one for once. Her mind was slowly starting to process what was going on, but she wasn't really sure as to what Leah was trying here. "You are a stripper for my birthday!" She pointed at the girl with her free hand as she spun around. There wasn't any other thing that could go with this, until the fact that she saw Leah lean down slightly. Wait a minute, her brain sparked and there might of even been smoke coming out of her ears when she figured out what the gift was. "Whoa whoa, you... want to... wait, are you sure? I understand it's my birthday, but don't just do this because I'm adding another year onto my life." She said, for once it was a sincere thing to say. She didn't want Leah going about having sex with her because she felt the need to since it was her birthday, that's not how it worked. She wanted Leah to have sex with her because she wanted to, it was her first time and well that was the most meaningful. Even if Ryan couldn't really remember her first time herself, she wanted to make someone else's special at least. It was not her choice though, it was Leah's and if she was willing to give her virginity as a present. Hey, it'd be a good story to tell later in life, if anyone ever asked how you lost it, you'd always remember it was someone's present. It sounded a bit forced, the reason the concerned look was still on Ryan's face. So obviously, the heartless bitch did give a damn about someone, someone who was willing to give up something so pure to someone so... impure.

Unlike Ryan, Leah was fortunate to have a caring family. Even her brother, who she often butted heads with, cared for the only daughter. And when problems arose, it was seldom that they turned their backs to each other. It happened on occasion, but the disagreements seemed to resolve themselves after some time. Her parents made it abundantly clear that their love was unconditional, regardless of the circumstances. Never once did she need to worry about being disowned or not being loved. Well, that wasn't entirely true. Leah was paranoid about first telling her parents about her sexuality. The girl lived on eggshells, keeping the fact that she was a lesbian a secret for almost a year after she, herself, came to terms with it. Leah was cautious about the subtle hints of her sexuality becoming more apparent when it came to speak with her parents. She worried that this would be the one thing that would drive her parents love away and almost was willing to be unhappy and loved than happy and disowned. That was, of course, until Leah blurted it out the day after her sixteenth birthday. What an interesting night that entailed. Leah couldn’t remember another time she felt more embarrassed when her mother insisted on talking.
Leah felt her heart swelling with anticipation. With being a virgin, the girl had never done anything like this. At most, there was mild fondling, all over the waist, but barely. There were a few times she had been with Ryan where she had to force herself from going further. Sex typically changed the dynamic of a relationship and Leah wasn't secure enough in hers to give herself like that. Ryan, after all, had initially sought out sex in the beginning, so what were the chances she was holding out until Leah finally gave in only to bail next thing? It worried her. Who wanted their first time to be so heartbreaking? And the limited friends the geek had, Leah had seen their relationships falter once sex was involved. The last thing she wanted was for her to give herself to Ryan and then watch their relationship crash and burn. Something like that would only break Leah's heart. So she held out. Every time Ryan's hands came close to undoing her pants, Leah quickly averted the attempts, often quietly apologizing for it. She didn't wish to 'blue-ball' the brunette, as Ryan liked to call it,. The girl just needed to find security before she'd allow herself to have sex.
At first, Leah learned quite a few facts about Ryan, most being public knowledge. The brunette was callous; she was someone who would take any information laid out in front of her and then turn it against another. And not only that but the girl attended parties like they were classes which explained her failing marks in most classes. They should have been warning signals for Leah to book it, but she was just intrigued by Ryan. Her looks certainly helped keep Leah stick around, too. She got the opportunity to glance into the softer side of Ryan. She saw Ryan's insecurities, whether Ryan wanted to admit having any or not, as well as the girl's strengths and weaknesses. For instance, the brunette had a talent for music but kept it a secret until the infamous blogger outed her. She had often heard Ryan humming or lightly singing in the comfort of her apartment, but it took a little convincing on Leah's part to get the girl to play something on her guitar.
But now... this was a rush. She scoffed lightly, more so giggling at Ryan's worrying. It was refreshing to see the brunette car about someone other than herself, but sometimes it came at odd moments. A large part of Leah expected the rebellious teen to take lead of things once it registered in her brain. So the soft concern coming from Ryan was a surprise, but more than welcomed. They really did balance each other out. Leah influenced the impulsive girl to just take a step back to think things over before acting while Ryan showed Leah that she didn't always need to worry about her grades. Since meeting Ryan, Leah's rigorous academic life became less structured. For the first time since freshman year, Leah strove to advance academically and now in her junior year, she was pulling a high B-average. And she was okay with that, Ryan got the blond to just have fun, regardless of the consequence. She only had one life, right? Well, Leah figured she only had one first time and with everything she had done for Ryan, it was returned in some odd way. "Well, I planned on doing it before," she confessed, her feet moving slowly across the floor. "Because... well. I think you deserve it, Ryan. And I love the fact that you're concerned... and confused... and that you not only actually love me, but you vocalized it as well." Her free hand cupped the side of Ryan's face, stopping just feet from the bedroom door. "I want this because, well, I love you, too. I want you, Ryan, and only you."
