Body
Kailyn is a little shorter than average, standing at exactly five foot, four inches. Most of her life she was the shortest one in her class, and only recently grew two inches to reach her current height. Her short stature has never bothered her, on the contrary she likes being short, as it enables her to fit places and do things taller people can't; it's like being a really tall little kid sometimes. Matching her height pretty well, Kailyn weighs one hundred and ten pounds. She tries to eat healthy most of the time, though will occasionally indulge in sweets or fast food.
Despite her mother's best efforts, Kailyn tends to slouch, making her look shorter than she is. She walks with a confident aura, not really arrogant, but like she is comfortable in her own skin and doesn't care what other people think. Her skin is smooth and pale, rarely tanning but burning easily. She's pretty enough, though not gorgeous, with a B-cup bust and small, curvy hips.
Face
Long, black hair frames Kailyn's rather long face. Her hair has an ever so slight wave to it- so it's not straight, nor would it be considered wavy- and falls to just above her butt, like a thick, dark curtain. Her icy, blue-grey eyes are in direct constrast with her dark hair and pale skin, making them 'pop', even without makeup.
Her eyes are situated above puffy cheeks and under thin, black eyebrows. The bridge of her nose is wide, curving into a medium size noze that has a slight hook. Her round jaw and chin, with only a slight cleft in it, gives her face an oval appearance, and the long chin only adds to the elongation of her face. Thick, pouty, dark pink lips frame straight, white teeth- the result of braces.
Personality:
[+]Compassionate
Though she doesn't think about how her words may affect people, she is very compassionate towards other people's feelings. Even if the person is a complete stranger, if he or she is sitting in a corner, crying, she'll go over to them to see what's wrong, and hopefully make things better. When she can't help, she makes a good listener for people who just need to get things off their chest.
[+]Calm
Kailyn is very calm most of the time. No matter how horrid or huge an event is, she will maintain her easy-going composure and look at the situation with calm eyes. It takes a lot to get her agitated or excited, and she doesn't mind sitting perfectly still for several hours. Even around a group of overly-hyper five year olds who won't listen, Kailyn doesn't get angry or energized.
[+]Humorous
Though not the life of the party, Kailyn has a very innate sense of humor. She loves to laugh, and make people laugh. Often times she's not even sure what she did that people thought was so funny, but none the less she finds pleasure in being funny, even if she's being laughed at, not with. She knows how to take a joke, and how to laugh at herself, and doesn't take things personally.
[+/-]Daring
Pretty much fearless, Kailyn will do almost anything. She never backs down from a dare, no matter how crazy the dare is, and will often do crazy things people haven't dared her to do. She enjoys doing stunts that make her heart pound, such as bungee jumping or rock climbing- real rock climbing, not climbing a wall. She's one of those people that if you were to ask her why she does things, her answer would be 'Just because'. Eventually she would like to climb Mount Everest, and perhaps dive near the Great Barrier Reef.
[+/-]Impulsive
A good thing in her eyes, though it often gets her in trouble, Kailyn is very impulsive. She will say and do things without thinking, even if it's against the rules or dangerous.
[-]Blunt
Kailyn doesn't really care what others think of her, and doesn't consider other people's feelings before speaking. She says what's on her mind, whether it's rude or not, and doesn't have a lot of secrets. Her mouth has often gotton her into trouble with teachers, or just other people, and on more than one occasion a fight has been started.
[-]Harsh
Kailyn, again, doesn't take anyone's feelings into account before she speaks. If you do something wrong or stupid- in her eyes- she won't be at all lenient. Instead, she'll crack down on you without mercy.
[-]Caustic
Part of her bluntness, Kailyn is extremely sarcastic. When making a rude remark it is almost always in the form of sarcasm. She can't help it, when someone says something, a sarcastic remark will often pop into her head, and when something pops into her head, she usually says it outloud. Sometimes her sarcasm will be a form of humour, though more often than not she's just being plain rude.

Mother- Lainey Deluca
Stepfather- Henry Jaden
Grandmother- Georgia Deluca
History: Lainey Deluca was a hardcore Catholic. All her life she'd attended a Catholic school, and her parents hoped that she would become a nun. This dream was shattered, however, when the seventeen year old girl was beat and gang raped. It took her several months in the hospital to recover, and Laney lost her faith in God. She'd always been devout, doing her best to follow the bible and do God's will, how could he allow something so awful happen to her? As a result of the rape, Lainey was pregnant, and although she no longer believed in God, she was very against Abortion.
Born right on time, Lainey spent ten hours in labor. She named the tiny baby girl after her great grandmother, Kaylyn Elizabeth, though she changed the spelling slightly. Kailyn was a quiet baby, which Lainey's mother took as a blessing, for it made it easier for Lainey to stay in school. With more sleep, she was able to keep up with her school work and graduate, though she was forced to do home study.
Not able to go to college, Lainey took courses online while taking care of Kailyn. As the baby grew, Lainey's mother, Georgia, was more of a mother figure to Kailyn than Lainey. Lainey was always busy with work or school, and she started going out, often staying out all night and sleeping the day away.
As soon as she was able to talk, Kailyn would sing along to songs. They had to stop playing lullabies for her because they didn't help her sleep, instead she would stay up, singing along to them. In second grade she was the lead singer in her class' dinosaur musical. The next year she auditioned to be in the talent show, and made it. When her mother and grandmother went to see her, they decided they needed to get her into singing lessons, since she showed such passion and talent.
When Kailyn hit middle school, she started dressing different. Her grandmother was appalled at the odd dresses and shirts Lainey would buy for her, but Lainey didn't really care. Whatever Kailyn liked was fine. Mid-way through middle school, Georgia kicked Lainey out. She couldn't stand the way her daughter was parenting Lainey, and since she refused to change her ways... out she went.
They moved into a one bedroom apartment, and Kailyn was forced to sleep on the couch. She didn't really mind, her mother either stayed in her room or went out, so it was pretty much like having the whole place to herself. She didn't abuse the privilege, though, as in she never threw parties or hand people come over without Lainey's permission.
When she was fifteen, Kailyn's mother brought home a guy. Well, she'd brought home plenty of guys, but this guy was different. They were engaged. Within the month they were married, and they moved into a nice, spacious house, as Henry was rather rich. Kailyn never really liked Henry, and is absolutely positive her mother only married him for the money, but she doesn't mind him either.

The apartment she shared with her twin sister wasn't very big, nor was it located in a very nice part of town. But Peyton and Rae were only 17, still in high school, going into their senior year, and their jobs only paid so much. Their mother hadn't objected to them leaving, but that was to be expected from a woman who had never really wanted children, although she had tried her best when they were younger. Still, Peyton had always been closer to her father, that is, until he died.
It had been six years since they'd received news of his dreadful passing, though it wasn't surprising, as he had been increasingly sick. For years the man had suffered severe migraines, double vision, a lack of energy, and seizures. No matter how many doctors he visited, no one could come up with a conclusion as to what was wrong. It could have been the pain, or just being fed up with not being able to do anything, but no matter the reason the forty year old man had over dosed on pain pills. Peyton's only comfort was that his death hadn't been painful, he'd simply fell asleep and never woke up.
The young woman sat up in her bed, eyes looking at the window. The sun was shining brightly behind the curtains, so she didn't need to look at her alarm clock to know it was late. Then again she was almost always up late, maybe two or three AM, so it made sense that she would rise late. Barking noises soon filled her ears, and she turned to look at a medium sized golden retriever who was whining from where she lay at the foot of the bed. "Hey Riv." She muttered, standing and petting the dog, who didn't move.
In the corner of the cramped room was a small black-wood dresser. No clothes were located in her closet, as other things occupied it. Everything, really, that she couldn't find a place for was crammed into it, causing her to give it the name 'Her black hole''. As it was summer, she dressed in navy shorts and a tank top, though she had to pull the shirt from the dirty clothes hamper. She always put off doing laundry until it was absolutely necessary.
Not in the mood to take River for a long run, she just opened the front door to the apartment and let the dog run down the stairs, to the grass, then come back up. The headache she had was the result of her drinking at last night's party. So she wasn't 21, and most people would consider her the kind of girl who got all 'A's and studied for every single test. Well, she was that type of girl, but in her opinion the law against alcohol was idiotic, and parties were a lot more fun when beer was involved. Besides, it was summer.
The best remedy Peyton had found for hangovers was coffee, and the small cafe right down the street made some really good espresso, depute the fact that it was old and run down looking. Of course, almost everything in the downtown area of New York looked the same way. "See you later Riv. I promise, I'll take you on a run later, ok?" Her other pet, an Egyptian Mau named Jayden was probably scurrying around in some tree, but she was used to him not being there half the time.
The walk to the cafe was quick, and it would have been nice had her headache not gotten worse. Both her and Rae went there all the time, and as soon as the man working at the counter saw her walk in, he went about making her usual hangover remedy, which was different from the caramel machiatto she got if she was feeling fine. "Thanks." She muttered with a half smile, handing him a five dollar bill. After getting her change, she looked around the cafe, only to notice Rae. "Hey." She said in the same dead tone she had used with the man making the coffee. Without waiting for an invitation, she sat down, drinking her coffee and waiting for the headache to subside.
