Appearance: She's far from shy about her looks, though it's not as if she'll spend days in the mirror just staring at herself, either; Michaela likes thinking she manages to look decent when she wants to, though there are days she'll throw her deep brown hair up in a messy bun and quite frankly wouldn't bat an eyelash if anyone was scandalized by her lack of effort. She doesn't aim to impress anyone, and in that sense acquired her own sense of style, God forbid she ever look in a Seventeen magazine or anything as equally ridiculous.
Michaela isn't like her sister in the aspect she can fool people with her eyes: on the contrary, they're her weakest point, considering she avoids most people's gazes unless she's firm on making them believe something truthful, or she's just really pissed off. Not many people notice that about her, though, because she's a little sneaky about it, she'll focus on someone's face but just won't look them square in the eye.
Personality: To be perfectly honest, Michaela has no idea whatsoever why she's the more popular twin, considering that Rachelle's, well, the nicer one so to speak. Michaela has no qualms about voicing dislike to someone else, and true to her stubborn nature there have been many a fight (but not catfight, because the girl really gets into it) between her and other girls that've pushed one button of hers too many. She doesn't ever go out of her way to start a fight, but if she sees something she doesn't approve of, there's just no way to keep her mouth shut about it; hell, she's even fought with other popular girls on treatment of people who weren't as well known. So yes, Michaela does believe in justice and fairness, though the way she goes to uphold it is might just be questionable on most accounts.
She's very spontaneous and unpredictable, one of those girls that's always on the move, which probably explains why she's an athlete more than a party-goer. Michaela can have a good time, but feels she doesn't need to get trashed every weekend in order to do it; she's got enemies on both the popular and unpopular sides of school, but on the flip side she has a lot of friends on both sides as well. It's the price of being upfront about who you are, and being known for it, Michaela would say if you asked her. But she's far from ashamed, the girl came out of the closet her freshman year and never went back: anyone that doesn't approve of her sexuality can shut up and deal with it, or have her deal with it for them.
Sarcasm would probably be one of her best weapons, though it's only around friends that she comes less defensive and the sarcasm becomes light and teasing instead of guarded and unsure. Although really, Michaela pulls off an overwhelming amount of self confidence very well, she's pretty insecure inside: it pulls deep into roots of being cheated on by multiple partners, and because of that she finds it hard to trust anybody as a friend, much less a potential girlfriend. Honesty's become something valuable to her because of this, and even in people she dislikes, if they're honest with her, they win some level of grudging respect.

History: Born a December baby, Michaela would grin and say her best friend was born only moments later, and that they'd never, not really, be separated since. However, she'd only groan if her parents ever pulled out pictures of them as children, when they were still in control of their wardrobe and managed to snap a few morbidly embarrassing photographs of the two of them in identical outfits. It was something in itself that no one seemed to be able to tell the two apart unless they had name tags on, but did they really need to dress the same too? Eventually that became a spark of debate in middle school, and thankfully, the matching outfits were no more. There was no denying that pulling pranks that no one but twins could accomplish was pretty sweet, though, and it was usually Michaela that goaded Rachelle into doing them with her, though she seemed to have fun as well.
As friends grow, they tend to change drastically, especially in teen years, and the same could be said for twins. They had both come out of their shells a bit more into differentiating personalities, though it soon became clear that Rachelle was destined to be the "good one", while Michaela wielded a double-edged sword of being called the "trouble maker." Still, however different they became and their interests changed, Michaela was always only too willing to support her sister in whatever she wanted to do, because they were sisters and even though they fought sometimes, she deserved to be happy. And that happiness seemed to be brought on a multitude of talents, though it was obvious that acting had first and foremost caught her attention. Michaela had a bit more trouble finding out what made herself happy, and it was in freshman year that brought about the challenge to find herself and be who she really was, whoever that was.
On one hand, Michaela's spontaneous attitude brought her like (and dislike) from her peers, and it boosted her popularity in high school, and with that popularity became public awareness. People seemed to know who she was when she was in the hall, and she was only a freshman! It was weird, to have people know your name and not anything about you, only making presumptions based on what they've heard, true or not. Being in the public eye brought spotlight, especially when Michaela finally came to the startling conclusion she was gay; far from shamed, she dated girls openly, and tried very hard to mask indifference when they would cheat on her, over and over again; it never worked, she wasn't the actress her sister was, and people knew her attitude only hardened with becoming jaded towards love. But whatever, right? Michaela shrugged it off and lived life as she always had, instead thrusting her attention in sports (which she had then learned she was actually good at, and thus sparked a passion she would continue to have for years to come) and fierce competition, eventually winning her positive attention instead of scrutiny.
Role Playing Example:
It was one of those nights again. she thought, annoyed as she kept walking. The shuffling soon became faster, and Ryan tensed with the increasing sense of foreboding; something wasn't right. Wild dog or not, whatever it was, it wasn't friendly.
The one kind that really shouldn't have made a difference in all the other nights in her life, whether or not the girl in question was currently walking alone in the midst of wilderness. It wasn't really as scary as what her classmates had whispered about during geometry class, there weren't any stalking nine-foot wolves that one boy 'claimed' to have seen on one of his ventures. Probably just saw an overgrown squirrel, she mused quietly to herself, barely minding the soft crunches of leaves beneath her sneakers as she kept treading at a leisurely pace. It wasn't as if the young girl was in any rush to get back home and be all by herself for company. Mara had gone out with Audrey somewhere, she never really specified where she went to her little sister; and Mr. and Mrs. Castillo had called her a few hours before and informed her that she wouldn't be seeing them until tomorrow afternoon. Overtime work hours could be a real bitch, she assumed, but it wasn't as if they were required or anything. No, they wanted the work, for what reason Ryanne couldn't identify. They were hardly upper class, more working middle, and she was fine with that. But like everything else Ryan couldn't understand about her parents, sometimes what they had just wasn't enough.
The point being, anyway, that there was no real desire to be all alone in her room for hours to come with nothing but a TV remote to keep her company. Her homework had been done ages ago (most of it in class, since unlike the other students she actually paid attention), her chores were finished, and she had gone through all of her classes today. At least she wasn't completely alone in the forest - there were animals, like deer and rabbits and things of the like. Ryan sighed quietly, kicking a rock a good ten feet away before she stiffened at the crack of a twig snapping that certainly wasn't her. Of course, she had to be reminded that the past few trips she had wandered along the woods, something had been giving her a shiver down her spine. Stupid wild dogs,
Slowing down in pace, so did the other footsteps she could hear somewhere behind her in the darkness, and Ryanne swallowed. She shook her head, in disbelief; she was being stupid about all of this, certainly. Just a dog, Ryan told herself vehemently, not allowing herself to be frightened,Just a stupid wild dog that can't hurt me. Even though wild dogs had teeth and claws and... packs. She voiced the last word with dread, hearing another rustling coming from a different direction. From the sounds of it, it was in front of her hidden in the trees; Ryan's footsteps slowed to a complete halt. Okay, one stupid dog could be dealt with, but two or more? That just wasn't fair. Her brown eyes vainly darted back and forth in the darkness of the trees; she might have had great eyesight (for a human, anyway), but that didn't mean she had night vision for christ's sake. So it was pretty much useless for Ryan, nothing more than a defenseless lamb about to be torn apart by vicious dogs. Is this what I get for wanting the slightest bit of freedom? Crap. The shifting - coming from both sides now - were getting more frequent even though Ryan had stopped moving completely. She couldn't find it in herself to try to run - why would she, when she was surrounded to a point?
It was at this moment, as well, that Ryanne cursed herself harshly for not bringing her cellphone with her. It would have at least provided her with light to see what was hidden by the night, even if there wasn't any signal in the forest. And if there was, well, instant rescue - Mara would probably rush back within record time if she thought Ryan was in real danger. But with her luck, she wouldn't have to settle for just a cellphone - as a body began to emerge into the clearing, into view as there was suddenly a swift rampant of noise behind her.
