Standing at a relatively short height of 5' 11", Greg isn't that different from the rest. Brown haired, blue-eyed, there really isn't much different about Greg than the rest of the population. The science boy has a few things going for him. Even if has the mediocre appearance, he still has a charming smile that could win anyone over.
Personality: Almost reclusive, Greg isn't usually the one to initiate conversations. Of course, that's different when lecturing students. Mostly because he gets to go on and on about Physics, a great love of his. Once he's on the subject, he is rarely silent.
With a small child, Greg easily transitions from the Physics teacher to the loving father. Jonathan is the Apple of his eye. He'd much rather help Jonathan with his homework than go out socializing and gallivanting with people his age.
Regularly reads the morning paper, and Google News, in relations to science. Typically doesn't watch television since he's busy correct papers and coming up with different learning methods for his students.
Of course, Greg does have a little fun to him. If there is free time in his busy schedule, on the weekends he will take Jonathan out to the movies and maybe an ice cream. It's hard raising a child on your own.

History: Born on February 18, 1980, Gregory is the youngest child of Andrew and Ester Mathson. His brother, Andy is four years older and grouping up, the two were torturous to each other -- more so Andy was to Greg than the other way. However, once Andy graduated high school, they developed and maintained a strong relationship. That was ten years ago.
Greg knew what he wanted to do since high school. Physics. He was definitely a science guy, the nerd, you know? Instead of sports, Greg threw himself into the books, studying, learning. He couldn't get enough of the stuff. But besides his nerd ways, Greg managed to court a few girls. Especially in college. That is where he met Hannah, who he thought was the love of his life. Junior year of college, the two met in a science lab their shared together. From there on it felt like true love. By their senior year, they moved into an apartment together, planning lives around each other. And soon after they graduated, they had wed.
A year after their wedding came their son Jonathan Francis. A beautiful baby boy, they midwife said. Every thing seemed perfect. Greg had a wife he loved and a son he loved before he even had a name. That is until four years into the marriage, Hannah signed for a divorce. She had found another man, soon leaving Gregory to raise Jonathan on his own.
After the divorce, he took the job at Newport High as a Physics teacher. Greg moved away from Colorado, heading west to Newport. This would be his and Jonathan's new home. They needed a fresh start. But what will Newport have in store for them?
